The Village and Region

Trémolat is an unspoilt and charming village typical of
this part of France. Its charm lies in its location
and its tranquillity. It is situated in the Dordogne
valley in the beautiful Perigord region midway between
Bergerac and Sarlat. Unspoilt and uncrowded yet
accessible to many of the popular sightseeing locations
nearby including Les Eyzies, Sarlat, the Bastide towns
of Domme, Monpazier and Beaumont with the vineyards,
prehistoric caves and chateaux which abound in this
area.

The village itself offers a bakers, two grocery shops,
a small weekly market and a wonderful restaurant just
a short walk away. There is also an excellent
restaurant in the nearby hotel (Le Vieux Logis which is
trying very hard to regain its michelin star!) and a bar
just across the square which also offers meals.
The river is just five minutes away - perfect for
picnics or simply a stroll along the riverbank. Watch
out for kingfishers as you enjoy the wonderful sights
and sounds of the famous Dordogne. Catch the beautiful
sunset while enjoying a drink at the riverside bar.
For the more energetic tennis courts
are located by the river in the Bassin Nautique - a
water sports arena where you can hire boats and canoes,
and indulge in a little waterski-ing (if you have the
energy!) Bikes are available for either sedate cycling
in the valley or more vigorous mountain biking up on the
ridges.

There are two good sized towns nearby - Lalinde and Le
Bugue - both offering a choice of shopping, a good
weekly market and restaurants within 12/13 km. The
famous town of Sarlat is only 30 mins drive away or can be
reached by train from our local railway station.
